Hi folks,my pal wants to send some seeds internationally (UK to USA) and asked me if i knew if this is allowed or  not. I do remember summat about this on here but cant re find the thread. Pal couldnt see anything about it on the post office website,so off he went to post them but got told he couldnt. Fella in the post office took ages looking it up,so pal feels he could try another post office and lie about the contents. He is fairly determined to send them as he has taken time to print off growing instructions, parcel it up etc. Anyone want to admit to getting away with this and if so,how did you do it?

I'll admit to receiving them in the USA from the UK, how's that? They came through fine in padded envelop.

Different countries have different laws relating to importing plants/seeds etc to protect against pests and diseases.  For the USA you can check here:

Yes  you need to check the importing country.

Australia, for example has a total ban on any type of plant material, seeds. leaves, cuttings, apart from a small white list.
Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

Many countries are very fussy about protecting their native plants and critters from imported bugs and pests and diseases so have strict rules.  Oz is particularly strict.  You can't even take in an uneaten apple when you arrive and they have sniffer dogs to check for fruit and veg and meat and so on.

The USA has licensing rules for the imprt and export of seeds and plant materials.   Check before letting yoursleves in for big fines.
