Brassicas without question!   Spuds & squashes get manured and most other stuff gets by just about anywhere.  Obviously all veg will benefit but if you only have a certain amount then my choice would always be brassicas.

This year was a trial for me manuring and spreading compost in only one of my 2 allotments.  Comparisons are as follows:

Compost / manured plot
Caulis - 1500-2000g! - Candid Charm / Wallaby
Calabrese - 800-1000g - Parthenon
Sprouts the size of golf balls.  (Been harvesting since 31 Aug) - Maximus
Summer Cabbage - 1000-1500g  - Greyhound
Autumn Cabbage - Brigadier - solid heads as hard as concrete, the size of footballs & still growing
Winter savoy cabbage - not planted in this plot.
Spring cabbage - doing well - Durham early

No feed plot  same varieties as above.
Caulis - 400-500g - Several have blown prior to harvest
Calabrese - 300-500g
Sprouts - not quite ready yet.
Summer cabbage - 1/3rd of the size
No autumn cabbage planted here
Tundra winter savoy - growing OK, no heads as yet but it is still early.
Spring cabbage - 2/3Rd's the size of those in the other plot.
All you do and all you see is all your life will ever be

I am going to spread my compost on my potato patch this time, it went around all the fruit this summer. I won`t be putting it on the brassicas just yet as my cabbages are enormous and very solid and heavy. I don`t want bigger cabbages   ::)
