Ive come to the conclusion you need to start tomatoes around November time to stand a chance of getting a ripe one next August.

I'm tripping over ripe tomatoes... just consigned some more soup to the freezer...  :-X

Whats the secret, I've got a polly tunnell of green ones  :'( :'(  Put some very ripe banana's in there and a couple have now turned, but its so cold and windy here. 

  Do tomatoes cross polinate ?
