These are Polish hardneck variety that I had some bulbils from last year. This years plan was to get small single clove out of them and next year small proper bulb.
But..the weather has played tricks and they form into perfect bulbs with individual cloves inside...bulbs are not much bigger than end of my thumb.
This was bit mixed blessing...now I have plenty of tiny cloves to multiply the stock..but those don't reach decent bulb size for a another year again. :-\..unless we get another 'funny' summer weather again.. ::)

Hi, it takes a few years for garlic bulbils to get to a full size, you have to keep planting them each year, it will happen..be patient.

Jeannine..yes..I was expecting it to take about 3 years before they form a bulb. Usually the first year you only get tiny single bulb with no division...but these decided to make perfectly formed miniature bulbs straight away..and it is only year 1!..and there is 4-5 even smaller cloves inside!!
..never seen them like this before..cute though.. :D

With normal size bulb you just end up with loads of green shoots as each clove will sprout but very little growth will go into forming new bulbs.
I suspect the result will be same with these as with 'normal' ones...
Cloves are tightly attached into old growing plate at the bottom of the bulb so there is no give away..they can't push away and they don't have room to grow.
