I'm eating mine as I go 7 so far with about 20 more to go, I hope.  ;D

Like Kev I just pick what I need and eat them asap.  The first few the grains were very small but still sweet.  I am up to about 10 so far.

I pop mine in the microwave with the green leaves still protecting them for 5 mins,  remove the greenery add the butter and yum.

I have three sowings so hope to have corn for several more weeks.

Does anyone know if I can freeze them with the green still on?

Robert_Brenchley

I made a mistake underplanting a lot of mine with oca. The oca grew so d**n fast it swamped the corn!

Mr Smith

I'm miles away from my Sweetcorn being ready, as very nice crop Graceland,

PeterVV

nice crop, mine are nearly ready but poorly developed, just aint had the sun they need. What variety did you grow, and which part of the country are you in?

cornykev

I had another one today naked in the microwave for 2+ mins .  :P

Lovely crop Graceland, makes mine look pathetic :(

I did not know it was ok to microwave, is it just as nice?

i picked 1 from my mini pop just to see how ready they were ate it raw surprisingly how Delicious it tasted

I think it tastes better done in the microwave I think that the leaves keep it moist and add a bit of flavour.

Doing well for me this year are Early Bird  from Moles seeds and Mirai bicolor from T&M.  All grown under bottle cloches until the first leaf comes out of the top of the bottle.  Very windy site seems to make a great difference.  Grown in blocks.

I've grown Lark and Lapwing this year.  Lapwing have performed a bit better overall but Lark is superior eating.

Must try a Mirai varient, they did well in the Gardening Which? trials according to a post on here.

Graceland: 40 cobs from 15 plants is pretty amazing.

Many of my plants have 1½ cobs (one full size and one mini).

What variety did you grow Graceland?

GRACELAND

MY CROP WAS
Sweet Corn Rising Sun F1 Seeds
Sweet and delicious!
A delicious early season 'Supersweet' variety (having 2-3 times the sugar level of ordinary varieties). Large, tightly packed cobs averaging 220g in weight. Good strong roots - ideal for exposed positions.

As I have a rather large beard, the trouble with eating corn on the cob is about two to three weeks later when the butter in your beard starts to go rancid.   I don't mind it of course, but the memsahib.  .  .  ::) .  .  .Cheers,    Tony.
