Some of my anya and PFA potatoes grown in dustbins are holow.  Does anyone know what caused this - slugs?

it is not insect or slug related. It related to watering and fertilization.

I have had a few that have rotted from the inside, the outside looks O.K. except for where the slug has entered, but cut in half and the center is hollow, full of water, bit slimy and totally stinks.

If there's nothing wrong with me, maybe there's something wrong with the universe!

IF there is a slug hole in it then there will be a hole in the skin.  It is not a good idea to microwave a spud with a slug still in it - the smell is appalling.   If the hole is very small usually the slug is still there.

I have hought a few which have a pointed crack type hole right in the centre. I put that down to the dry and the variety.
