Allotments 4 All

Not sure if this is the right place to put it, but who cares.  Help, I am going away next Saturday (only for a week to Jersey) and my peas are just doing so well, and strawberries, have told next door plot to pick some, and he said he would water for me, but it is OK it is raining here, I am going to miss grandchildren, children, cats (Dulce stop licking my feet),  OH (don't make me laugh) but I am really going to miss my daily walk to my lovely allotment. Just can't wait to get back after a week to see what has grown, how sad is that.  ;D ;D

I noticed you mentioned missing everything apart from me, wipes the tear from his cheek, have a good un, I spent many a year holidaying in Jersey as a kid, don't forget my pressie, and don't eat too many Jersey spuds.     ;D ;D ;D

We are off to Corfu on Friday, just husband and I, first holiday on our own since our eldest was born 19 years ago. Am really looking forward to it, but also fretting about garden. Roses and flower garden looking gorgeous, then there's all the soft fruit, strawberries, gooseberries really need picking but I haven't got time, fragile new seedlings, all those peas, courgettes, the greenhouse, what about if we get a last frost?? How will it all manage without me? And I shall miss it...

OH thinks I am mental, but you all understand  ;)

Have just come in from staking in the almost dark, reinforcing OH's opinion...   ;)

OH has let her passport expire... so no wisking her off in the growing season... but we are a bit too busy with other things...  :-X

When I go away the first thing I do when I get back is go and check the veg. 

So attached to lottie that I have decided to have winter holidays only this year. 

So yes I totally understand.

I totally understand. We really need to go to OZ to visit family, we are being nattered about it, but I would have to go in the winter because of the lottie, then I would have to have someone in to do the houseplants, then I worry about the freezer,the bird feeders,I can't get a decent cup of tea.. oh eck..maybe I can get them to come here.

I need to get alife!!

We haven't been away for the last few years but when we did it was always in October. We came back to sowing Broad beans and sweet peas. I love the Summers on the allotment.

Managed to convince OH that we can only manage two separate weeks this year, two whole weeks is far too long to be away while stuff is growing!
