Mikey, the bean supplier I have in the US whois looking into wether they can ship to the Uk I think have the one you want, it is listed as rice bean, not the other type which are cow peas, this one is a true bean, white oblong  and looks like a grain of rice, apparently the other name for them is Dwarf White rice bean which is what they have, if they will supply me I will include them in my order..it is along shot but I think it is right. The other place I do know that have them is the French equivalent of our seed savers, they are listed but are out of stock. XX Jeannine

mickey i did some googling, comtesse de chambord is called in english dwarf white rice kidneybean or dwarf ricebean from hongria in french they are also called haricot nain de hongrie,i hope you have some more information to search for it.It is an heirloom bean from french, also very famous in canada. So maybe you can get them from a canadian source.

Hi, I have a" brown rice" bean...does anyone know if that is a climber?
Thanks

Mikey..I think I can help you with you search.. ;) ;)...but Comtesse is not climbing type bean..it is classified as 'untidy' bush. It grows quite tall for 'normal' bush type and will need supporting and because of that untidiness it is not very good for outdoors..or you need some sort of shelter to keep it from topling over because of the wind and rain. Plants are very floppy.
Do you still want some? PM me for details.

Whoopsie...I only just noticed this is old post that is bought up again... ::) That's sorted then. ;D
Wortle..do you know any other name for your rice bean.
And little recommendation...it would be better next time to start your own tread with your question.. ;)..just to avoid confusion and get your own question noticed.. ;)
