Allotments 4 All

Hi all

Have sown some campanula, marjoram and foxglove seed in seed trays that are now nicely popping through.....but...these things are Tiny!!  :o

Do I leave them till there are more leaves or attempt microsurgey and see if I can tease some out?

For marjoram, I had some success by growing a clump of it in a pot and then planting it out in a bunch, but it wasn't entirely a hit. Maybe it needs to be direct sown?

maybe you need to leave it a lot longer before transferring?

I just use the end of a label to scoop up a blob of soil and dont worry about doing individual seedlings but take a group of three or four this really helps stop them damping of when cramped together.So it really is worth doing I do lobelia and foxgloves like this and they do much better pricked out.

Like others for flowers like lobelia I pinch off small "clumps" and pot these on. For Foxgloves I wait for them to grow big enough to handle - the seed is tiny so a little goes a long way

I potted on into cells just the other day and they seem fine.

plant clumps, then thin them out as they get bigger......
