About 6 weeks ago I bought a blackcurrant & blackberry which were in pots from B & Q. They have been outside in their pots since buying them. They are both in leaf. The blackcurrant has a few berries on it. I am wanting to plant them onto my allotment but not sure when to do this. I am in the south of the UK and it seems we may be getting a frost later on in the week. Should I wait until mid May before planting them out.

Plant them out.  They are more likely to suffer from being `pot bound` than a slight frost if you leave them

Plant them out the sooner the better now.

Give them plenty to drink (water) and keep watering they need to establish themselves.

Next year  and then after, you probably wont need to water ever again but this year I would water them well and if it does not rain do it as often as daily.

If it is a dry year when you first plant the chances of loosing the plant are more likely due to lack of water then anything else.

As I say, after that, usually, they will look after themselves,
