Allotments 4 All

My friend and I are going to book a Sun holiday (cheap) in September to the lovely Isle of Wight.  We don't drive anymore but do like walking.  I have to decide between Newbridge, Cowes, Ventnor, Shanklin, Sandown or Bembridge.  Any suggestions from that lovely person that lives on that island.  Loads of holiday parks on the island.  Just doing a bit of research on the internet.

I live in Cowes, so that's out, Ventnor very hilly, Shanklin and Sandown are bucket and spade places full of tourist tat and amusement arcades. Newbridge is out of the way but you do have the Tennyson trail to walk along, Bembridge is very la de da and I think the camp (known locally as Colditz) is miles away.

Anywhere you go is only 15 minutes from the countryside, don't forget your passport and strictly no topless bathing ;D

Thanks for that, will give it a whirl.  Sorry but think the Gunard Pines Resort sounds good and that is Cowes.  Also put down the Newbridge one as the Tennyson trail sounds good, and Sandown as is a smaller site.  Well, if we don't like it we can always go home. Going to Jersey in June with Holiday Fellowship walking but that is an expensive week, (£600) and this week is only about £40 (I think).  Do I really need a passport.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Gunard Pines Resort is a good site, no buses, but a nice 2 mile walk into Cowes along the seafront.

Do I really need a passport.     ALong with your typhoid and tropical diseases jabs and phrase book for when somebody says 'da ya see they too gurt galleybaggers fro lunnun, look a the gurt big hudders on em'

Well my friend has booked Bembridge, White Haven Bay on Oct 3rd for 4 nights, chalet sleeps four should be OK for two.  I owe her £25 (cheap) so if we don't like it can come home.  Hopefully the children should be at school so should be good for walking on the lovely Island.  She has been on these holidays before and thinks they are good value.

I know that place well Borlotti, in fact your only about 5 or 600 yards away from the nudist beach.    :P :P :P
