When I switch on my computer  I find a new icon has appeared.  It looks like an exclamation mark in a circle and under it says "click to find and fix errors".  Do I click and why has this appeared.   I have never seen this before.  I have had my computer for 7-8 years.   Any advice please.

Dont click it - if in any doubt then right click on it - select properties and see where the link points to.
If you dont recognise what you see (post the name of the targetfile here if you want) then delete the link and the target.

More often than not it is a social engineering way of getting you to install something on your PC that you wouldn't otherwise install.  More than likely malware.

Try a scan with malwarebytes - free from here.  http://www.malwarebytes.org to check if your PC is ok...
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

Many thanks.  Did it.  Sorry for the delay in replying.   It took me sometime to work it out.
