I noticed this today. Microsoft is ending support for XP with SP1 & 2, only limited support for SP3. See here http://www.computeractive.co.uk/computeractive/news/2265264/microsoft-alerts-xp-vista-users

It doesn't really affect me as I use a Linux OS except for an old laptop with XP, which I don't use online (only to control Windows specific hardware).

Well I suppose its been coming it is 9 years or so since its release.
All they have to do now is to scrap that awful Vista and be more open with their source codes.
I do use Windows as well as Linux and other open source software.
I always try to remember that in no small way is Bill Gates responsible for the spread of access to computers for us normal folk as opposed to computer experts.

Limited support for SP3????

"James McCarthy of Microsoft's Windows team said: "Everything will continue as normal for people using XP as long as they have installed SP3."

In fact MS have extended support of XP SP3 - normally 10 years - XP will be fully supported for 13 years.
As SP3 is a free download that is automatically installed if you autoupdate then I dont think there is much to worry about.

I'm running XP with only the service 2 pack, and am considering downloading the service pack 3 as I have been given an Office Home & Student 2010 which apparently can only work with XP service pack 3 version ....anyone had any problems installing/running XP once the service pack 3 has installed?
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

No problems here.

Done over a thousand SP3 updates with no specific issues.
Go for it..
