Allotments 4 All

I have a load of bulbs that I lifted from tubs this spring, and are sitting in my shed. I was wondering when these can be planted into some newly-created boarders which will be their permanent home. It would be really convenient to do that now, although I usually plant bulbs in the autumn. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

(They are daffs, tulips and so on - nothing very exotic)

I put them in anyway. Now I await the replies that all say 'you shouldn't have done that...'  ;)

I'm sure they're be happier in the ground than forgotten in the shed.  :)

I'd have thought they'd be OK. It's common practice to lift tulips as they like a dry summer period, but not so common with daffs.

Id say go for it with the daffs and crocus hyacinths and iris but keep the tulips.

They dont really make much root until after christmas but are quite prone to rot in wet weather. the others all root starting about now and are much less prone to being rotted of.
