As I've already been hit with blight this year, I thought it may be helpful if I posted a few photos of blighted potato and tomato plants. The potatoes are earlies, the leaves and stems have all been removed and bagged ready for disposal. I'll leave the tubers in the ground for a couple of weeks, by which time there should not be any spores to contaminate them. I had sprayed my maincrop potatoes with Dithane and so far they remain unaffected. Anyone else had an outbreak yet?

So sorry to hear you've been hit. Hopefully its early blight and things will come through without too much damage. Fingers crossed. So far OK here.

No it was me, messed up somehow, site went very sticky and said invalid, so I edited them in again  :)

Thanks Plot51A, but late blight I'm afraid, just wanted people to be aware it is about  :(

Sorry to hear that Granny, has she got toms or spuds in?

No spuds as it was to late to plant any. I've planted 4 toms so will keep an eye on them ;).

Only had one 'Smith Period' alert this year but the weather predictions could indicate further probs.
If my toms., which are in full production at the mo. go tits up - that's it. No more toms!!!!!!
I don't grow maincrop spuds any more for the same reason.

Maybe pinneapple/mango fruit/other climate change possibilities?
Eskimo Nel was a great Inuit.

Baaaaaaaa

My earlies are flopping a bit, but I think its because their ready (yum).  Thev've been in since 11 Apr, ie 9 weeks.

At least - I hope its because they're ready.
