Had our second helping of cavili courgettes yesterday.Tried a bit raw and they are very similar in texture and taste to avacado. Thanks to DebP for the introduction to them. BTW the ledgend toms are looking good too
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I'm growing them this year for the first time! Haven't actually had any yet. I shall remember your tip about eating them raw. I'm allergic to avocadoes and I miss them!
gone to pot :D

IMO the Cavili is one of the best for flavour and crunchiness. I prefer it to cucumber!. I'm also growing Parthenon again. It is sooooo prolific I can't keep up with it and none of my neighbours like courgettes! The yellow frugliani Rugosa (??) from Saddad has several small female fruit but unfortunately - not a single male flower to pollinate them. Neither the Cavili nor the Parthenon produces many male flowers so I'll have to hope that some will soon appear on the yellow F.R.

They remain my favourites to date........I've been eating mine for a few weeks now thanks to the protection they got from OH's 'hot boxes' he made for me, they have worked a treat.... ;)
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

I am growing Cavili too.  The courgettes are very small at the moment but I think they may be ready in the next few days.  I am eager to try them as, on the packet,  they look as if they have a creamy flesh.  Mine were from Tuckers.

I fancy trying these too.
Thanks for finding the suppliers  for me.  Sometimes I am a bit slow finding things if I am not familiar with.

Pauline do watch them as they grow very quickly. I was amazed that after picking the first two acouple of days later there were another 4 ready. I hope that they keep as marrows for winter like the other courgettes

Do these produce any male flowers? My labels got muddled/rubbed off and I thought I had two cavillis. I know where one of them is, but all my other plants seem to be producing male flowers.

I find that both Cavili and Parthenon produce very few male flowers, probably because they don't need them?
