If you don't mind I'm going to have a grumble.

I've just popped into my local supermarket, & I couldn't believe my eyes!!
95p for a green pepper!!!!!!!!!!!

95p,.................95p.................95p!!!!!!!!!!!!....(She said in a loud voice).

Come on seeds hurry up & grow!!

They did come from abroad, by plane. Through a sky littered with volcanic ash... So there is probably a shortage.

Shops will only price things at what people are prepared to pay for them. As much as they can get of course.

Hope you found an alternative for your meal.............Frozen peas are green and you can get a big bag full for a quid.

Peppers at the open market, Birmingham Bull Ring, last Saturday....99p + 1d (haven't got the sterling sign on this puter :D) bought me 3 green peppers + 2 yellow peppers + 1 red pepper. 8)

They came from the Murcia region in Spain and were grown in polytunnels just up the road from where my friend lives in Lorca. They, and all the other stuff grown in the region travel overland (and now through the Chunnel, of course) to reach us.
