Strawberry seedlings problem

I have been growing some Strawberries Florian with pink flowers from seed.  The idea was to put them in the front garden which I am using as a potager.  At present there pansies intercropped with garlic and onions, actually looks ok.   Except everyone thinks the garlic is some kind of iris.  Why grow ornamental grasses when you can have a clump of garlic.

I had hoped to plant out the strawberries but they are still very small they are growing rather slowly and there are huge numbers of annual weeds to complete with.    But if I leave them they may not survive my holiday.  So can I move them in the winter like you do the runners if I plant them on the lottie to bulk up?

Hmm.... I'd be tempted to put them in bigger pots .... I'm growing the same variety and they have been a bit slow to get gowing.... They'll be going into some larger pots soon (they're in individual cells ATM).... I've also got my busy time of the year approaching regarding festivals (I have a hobby/business doing som elighting effects for them) so soon will be away for 4-5 days at a time on a regular basis and the biggy for Glastonbury for 10 days.... thankfully by then everything will be out, the autowatering kit will be installed (straight timer for the polytunnel, timer+sensor for the outdoors stuff).... it's the two gigs in May that always give me the most trouble.... I reckon I can get away with most things in big pots on my verandah...

They are in yoghurt pots at the moments, so they can get quite a lot larger without being moved.    I think I might put a few outside and see how they fare.

Last year did not have many pests but this year there are rabbits, deer, squirrels, mice, pigeons, dogs, humans all causing damage.  Not to mention a hedgehog who is rooting round in any manure it can find and digging things up.    Since I buried lots of it, there are holes appearing all over the place.  It seems to be able to dig under the edge of any netting.

I'm growing these too and mine are still really tiny.  I sowed them at the beginning of March.  Did you start yours off outside or inside? I'm going to put mine into bigger cells later today to see if it helps.

I grew Florian and Sarian from seed a couple of years ago. They are just starting to flower again this season.

Don't lose heart, they seem to take for ever from seed and then all of a sudden beautiful flowers and yummy fruit. They just take a wee while, but worth the wait  ;D

I started mine inside and then in a cold greenhouse, before planting them in baskets and they fruited mid to late summer summer.
