Hi all,
I have some PSB to plant but I am not sure how many plants I will need.
I don't want to waste space as they are so long in the ground.
there are 2 adults 1 child to feed who all love our greens.
any advice welcome.

Thanks all,
much less than I imagined,I am so glad I asked.

We like generous portions of veg.  For our family of 4, only 3 of whom love PSB (younger daughter has a few spears under sufferance and much prefers green calabrese) -  6 plants of each type (early/late) is perfect.

We do four plants for a family of four. We get several meals out of that, and although we could eat more (but not that much more) it is quite enough for our tastes because they take up so much room. Off the top of my head the planting distance is 2ft (or even more) between plants - and believe me, they need it. They are also in the ground for a long time, more than nine months, so you need to think about how space you want to give over to them.
