Hebes - dead or alive?

I have a few variegated hebes which suffered very badly in the snow, frost etc.  I don't think they are dead but they look dreadful and have lost most of their leaves.  Will come good when it warms up or will I have bare sticks to remind me of their former glory?

Should I be patient and wait a bit and see what happens, or bite the bullet and dig them out?

I took some cuttings last summer and they had all rooted, but a poke about in the pots tells me I have lot them too.

Again, advice appreciated

Hang on in there. Mine look dead as well, but it is just possible that shoots will appear in early Summer.

Thanks realfood.  I will leave them be and keep my fingers crossed that the dried arrangements come back to life  :-\
