I having finally got my two pc's working and online thanks to a really great bloke who came to the house and sorted out our mountains of problems.

The problem I have is on the main pc - the mouse scrolls really slowly (jerks down basically).  It is a cheap and nasty that I got from Tesco but it did work.  I have tried to alter the settings in the control panel but nothing makes it better.  The settings say it is a generic mouse, is there a site that I can go to to download a driver that does not try to sell me some weird package.  I have looked up the manufacturer (Technika) to see of there are any drivers on their main site that I can download.

Any help would be greatfully received, this lack of scroll is 'driving' me bonkers >:(

Probably just needs a clean, remove the ball, look inside, you will see 2 rollers and a small wheel.
Scrape any crud off these, put the ball back, and all should be fine.
If there's nothing wrong with me, maybe there's something wrong with the universe!

I have done that on the other mouse which had a similar problem (a job I quite like  ???)  This one has an infra-red light on the base.  I think it has the wrong driver.  Thanks anyway for responsing - Coco.

Have you checked you graphics settings?
Unless your using a special function mouse, then a driver should not be needed.

That sounds a good option.  I cannot play games that I normally can as it says that my graphics card may be not compatable.  It worked ok until the pc had a really nasty virus that ended up with me having to re-install a new copy of windows.  I had to pay for someone to come and get me back on-line as it would not recognise my modem.

How do I check for this?  Cheers Allie

It depends on the make of card.
If it's ATI then try to use  upto date Catalyst drivers  http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx.
or Nvidia http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us

It might be easier to take the case of the pc and have a look for the model make/number

Brilliant, I followed the link, downloaded the driver and now it is like having a new pc.  You are a genius, thank you so much  ;D ;D ;D
