I got pack seed last season but did get chance to plant them, it contained 3 non white varieties of cauliflower in 3 little separate packets. The colors where green, orange and purple.
What have your experiences been with none white cauliflower varieties. Did you notice any differences in taste when you did not smother them with cheese.

As far as I am aware, there was no difference in taste, just looked interesting on the plate

Purple cape is a traditional lovely purple late cauli with a definite extra flavour - but some people would call it a heading broccoli.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck and swims - who gives a mallard?

I also like romanesco which is nominally a summer calabrese broccoli but has the same texture as a cauli but with a definite extra flavour.

Cheers.
With a microholding you always get too much or bugger-all. (I'm fed up calling it an allotment garden - it just encourages the tidy-police).

The simple/complex split is more & more important: Simple fertilisers Poor, complex ones Good. Simple (old) poisons predictable, others (new) the opposite.

Another fan of Purple Cape here...  :)

vinlander I guess you misunderstand my post. I meant real  orange, green and purple cauliflower not  heading broccoli or a romanesco.
the varieties are Purple of Sicily,Green Macerata, and Cheddar.

I can't say I've noticed much difference in taste between the coloured varieties and white caulis, the green Trevi and Purple Cape are very reliable late sown types which i have grown before. Cheddar is quite orange in colour, which I admit I don't like the look of very much so haven't tried it!
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
