Some late tomatoes

Just when I thought there was a chance of regaining control of the kitchen I had a bit of a tidy up in the polytunnel. This variety is Santa Cruz Cada and tends to be a little bit more tender than the other tomato's I grow, but once it is away, it produces a vigorous plant with lots of heavy fruit ideal for cooking and processing.

A late starter with a strong finish. There is probably much more than this amount yet to come if the weather holds out for a few more weeks.

Mine is outside and it's still going, although after 3 days of rain no doubt the blight will be active again.

Where did you get the seeds? I'm hoping to have the poly up and running again next year and a good paste is one of my gaps...  :-X

I got mine in a seed swap I think?

Eristic

No doubt there will be some seeds floating about in the swap shop in the weeks to come but I got mine from Baker Creek as a free sample. I doubt that these would do well outside except in a hot summer.

All I've got left outside is my blight trial toms.  :P

I would be growing inside...  :)

They've done well outside in what could hardly be called a summer. They might be less happy outside north of Watford though.

I better save a tub of seeds then. Give me a few weeks and I'll have them ready.

ditto here as well but today the sun is out and should be again tomorrow and if the MET is anything to go by the dry weather should continue over the weekend. so hopefully the unripened toms would get the chance to well .....ripen. i still think I'll get at least one batch of green tomatoes right near the end, which I'll turn into chutney.

When I say there is tomato jam in the kitchen this is what I mean.
