Allotments 4 All

Picked four rolets yesterday and they are small and as hard as iron.  Is that because they didn't get enough water, been very dry here in north London.  From the same packet of seeds I had butternut squash, which is good picked small and soft.  Had one Turks Turban which I used for decoration and then decided to cut and that is also hard.  Have loads more Rolets coming so should I water and leave on plant.  Does say on packet Rolet, dark green 'small' gem fruits and harvest from August to frost. Think Table Queen was the other one which went in the soup last night.  All in all quite pleased with the Johnsons seeds for £3.99, haven't used the Jack O Lantern or the Sweet Dumpling but will next year as lasts until 2011.
