We are having a new boiler fitted midweek & the hot water cylinder will be removed. Are there any uses for it in the garden or lotty?

I can't answer your question but I just wanted to wish you luck with your new boiler.  Ours was fitted last week and I hope you are blessed with CH engineers as polite, clean and efficient as the company we chose.  :)

What you can do with the tank will depend on what it's made of & what tools you have available; they can be pretty tough to cut into.

If you can't customise it call a scrap metal merchant & exchange it for cash. ;)

If its copper and you have a jigsaw and a file to clean it upo then you could make a load of 3-4" deep copper rings to put roiund salads to keep the slugs away.....
