Allotments 4 All

All my tomato plants got bad blight so i cut away as much as possible, every day i was destroying tomatoes, then about two weeks ago it seemed to stop. I destroyed one tomato yesterday and this is what was ripe.



I'm well happy ;D as i thought all of them would be effected and i still have about four times the amount left ripening now.

I found the same thing, destroyed about half of my 32 plants. The rest have all got blight but have been cutting off all the bad bits and also tried spraying them. Now seems to have slowed down completely and I have loads of fruit ripening and only the odd one that goes bad. So pleased as I thought they were all doomed!! :)

Oh dear,

Mine have finally come to bare the dreaded blight. Over the past few days the weather has been very moist and humid. Still I cant complain we have had a good crop before this set in. Lucky for me the OH saved some seed and hope this will do better next year.

Same here, a few weeks ago I picked off 3 bags of blighty leaves and toms, and after that we picked off leaves and toms daily, any that looked affected.  And it seems to stop.  I've made 24 pints of passata, and am now freezing toms, we've given away loads, and eaten more than we would like.  From potential disaster to success, I'd say.

We were very lucky with the potatoes, too, as they were on a different site and we seem to have got away with it with them.

Spuds are doing well and hope they are great for the autumn. Bags in the GH are full of the green and waiting for the flowers now.
