Allotments 4 All

I planted asparagus, ooh, must have been three years ago now - but because I broke my ankle last year and had to abandon the plot for six months, I let it grow on this spring because it hadn't been fed and the shoots were weedy and thin. I went up today to pull out the usual crop of weeds and there seems to be a new crop coming up.  :o  Any ideas why? Should I crop them?

i would leave it be  till next year now .

I'd let them grow to build up the crowns... you'll get the reward next Spring. :)
