all you can do Steve is do the working tax credits should give you a better chance than being on the dole

If it was me id do that because i cant stand standing in the Job seekers office having to answer to some stuck up person asking me how many job adverts id applied for this week as if i want to be there sighning on in the first place .

they make me feel as if im the guilty one being unemployed

Thank God im working and have been for 5 years

good luck getting it all sorted

The credit crunch is not your fault.

If you are on the dole for 6 months then you can retrain for free. Plumbing is great money.

Perhaps a complete change is needed?

What do you do  for a living Steve?
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I'm a steel erector and fabricating by trade   But when i got laid off time before i couldn't get a job doing that and still cannot
At the mo I'm working on a nursery. but that may not be much longer :(
I will put my hand to any thing.

I would like to retrain but cannot afford it out of my own pocket and I'm not the type of person to be sitting on the dole....

I sympathise, this week 25 of our managers were made redundant,it was so out of the blue.
I had to comfort one of my close friends, it was terrible, never want a day like that ever again.

Everyone so solemn :(

No help or advice to give you Steve, just wanted to let you know that I undertand the sign of the times :(

Steve
good luck to you. My hubby has been made redundant and we are trying to hold it all together, as you say not a lot about BUT he has gradually picked up work and although money is very tight we are now much happier as he gets weekends for the first time.
Stick in there.

Why not put an ad in for gardening just to tide you over. Never know you might even like it better than your own trade

Funny you should say that was offered some garding work today :D
And took it .
She was a lovely old lady but cannot manage her garden anymore .... well not the physical stuff anyway.

And it was working on the nursery that got me in to growing my own and now i have a allotment :)
