Hello all---been busy you know where for a while & haven't been posting, occasionally reading, still good info;  I have a question please:  is there any special method for placing fleece over my carrots--must it be secured tightly all round, obviously I don't want it blowing away...but generally, do you make sure it's snug all round to the ground....?  Thanks for your advice.

I use fleece a lot to keep all sorts off the valued veg.
There are clips on the market for securing fleece, but I use anything to hand.
Wood, stone, or any form of weight that holds it in place.
I also use wire hoops to keep it off the crops.

ive used clothes pegs this year,and wondered how i ever managed without them last year! do the job brilliantly

We were running out of pegs so I suggested we used some 8' canes along the edges & just put a couple of clips at each end to secure.

This is how I cover mine;



I prefer to use a weighted down lath/plank rather than pegs on the sides of the cover (it does less damage to the fleece)

n.b. The gap at the end of the fleece in the picture was staged so that you can see the carrots within.
