Allotments 4 All

When I log on, sometimes there are 2-3 pages of unread topics.  If I read some and close down the page without marking the remainder as read,  they have all gone when I try to view 'unread topics' later.  This never used to happen.  Is it a technical glitch or the new way of viewing.

It happens to me from time to time  ??? ??? ??? ???
