Allotments 4 All

Only had a brief time down at the lottie today.  Decided to plant out some brassicas.  Purple sprouting, sprounts, caulis and cabbage.

Planted some earlier in the week when there was rain forecast but instead we had a baking day and the cabbages got cooked.

Yes it was raining.  It was ok until the water wicked up my trousers.  It seems that soggy shins are ok but soggy thighs is miserable.  Hopefully with all this rain the plants will not even noticed they have been moved.

There is something lovely about being out in the rain, you can feel the plants growing.  I do believe some of them seem to be twice the size overnight.

Did you rake up the soil where you had been standing to plant?.....it may be like concrete when it dries out again.....well it does on my plot hence the reason I dont go on it when its wet.

The paths on my allotment are like concrete already.  I have only dug just enough to plant and left the paths.  But yes you are right I will try and give some of it a prodding with the fork. 

But I decided to plant the brassicas down the edge of the allotment so I do not have to tread on it in the winter so much of the treading was up the grass paths.
