Lovely pictures. How wide is the border that has squash with sweet pepper  in front of it?

That bed is approx. 7'-6" x 2'-0" ( 2.25m x 0.6m)

Does that mean you can grow peppers in front of squash in a 6 by 8 greenhouse? (good size of greenhouse...all the best folk have them  ;)

Tee-Gee, the picture of the plant 'Honesty', is it a biennial, fragrant and about four foot tall? The reason I ask is that I have two plants in my garden that fit that description and I do not know what they are. They were random flower seeds planted last year and are really gorgeous and fragrant and I want to grow more of them. The picture of your flowers 'Honesty' looks exactly like them.

  Robbo.

My one is 'perennial' and grows about 4ft tall but I don't think it is fragrant as such. Although I have never tried smelling it!

I grow it for its seeds pods, they make nice dried plants after the seed has been removed.

This is what that one you refer to looks like this morning;

The chlorophyl will disappear from these pods and become semi transparent (like tissue paper) You can either open the pod and remove the seeds or just leave them in the choice is yours.

Thanks for the great slide show!  It has kept me amused during my nightly 'walkabout time' between 2 am & 5 am.  Wow, what a tidy gardener  - I'll try to grab some kip before going to the lottie to try even harder!

Thanks for the reply T.G. I have since found out what my flowers are, 'Dames Rocket'. They really are worth a place in any body's garden, a profusion of beautiful lilac coloured flowers with a strong fragrance that stops you in your tracks. I intend to grow a full bed of them next year.

The info that I have on "Dames Rocket" (or Hesperis matronalis) is that it a very invasive species... I'd be careful about an entire bed of them.... ???
