missing the fruits of my labour!

I'm going on hols in 4 weeks, if I sow my peas and beans now will I be in danger of missing the crop or should I wait a bit and sow just before I leave?

They take longer than 4 weeks to come to fruit... whether something else eats the plants while you're away is a different matter!  :-\
