Hi,

Our patio-potted apple tree came into full bloom and put on a wonderful display, but since then we've had a lot of windy weather and have lost most of the apples-to-be.  Do you cover your apple tree with something like fleece to ward off winds and allow blossom to set and grow into apples?  It's quite disheartening to see all that effort gone to waste.

Thank you.

Jill

All might not be lost afterall its only the petals that are being blown off, not the bit that produces the apples!

Hmmm, we lost the petals a little while ago, it's whole stems and fruit buds that look like they've gone...

There's naturally a "June drop" as trees often set more fruit than they can develop, and pot planted trees are worse... see how many are left... more than a dozen and the tree is probably at full production...  :-X
