What can I put on my Japanese onions to encourage them to grow a bit faster.    They seem to be very slow growing.

when did you plant them?

The classic is nitram if you can get it about six weeks ago.... Dried blood works quite well..... something with nitrogen and maybe a bit of phosphate but little potash would be favourite. BFB is OK but it is a bit late to be doing it.....

I planted them last Autumn.  End of September.  I have some Miracle- Gro.   Would that be O.K?  I am out and about tomorrow so might pop in the Garden Centre.     Thanks for replies.

Urea will certainly give them a kick start...  :)

Glad I saw this post.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. My Senshyu onions went in last November.

I read on here to use Potash for the bulbs. I have been doing this for a while. Not sure how much to use. I have been using 10lts for 100sq ft. (10x10)

Any thoughts would be welcome.

I planted Senshyu on the 11/10/08 and they've only started bulbing in the last few weeks.       ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

Don't panic - they often only now start bulbing up.

All in a rush!

Very Japanese

What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

Ours have only just started to bulb
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"
