Hi i have just replied to a message on freecycle for a rooted grape vine cutting with new leaves 2 ft tall ready to be planted. I got it picking it up shortly. It is saying i wont see fruit until the second year and there white small and very sweet.

Just wondered what the best spot is for them garden or lottie, pot or ground plus anything i need to know like do i need to provide support?

Off to plant the spuds i picked up the other day on there too what a bargin.

  ;D

what I've been doing with my rooted cuttings is planting them near the edge of the plot about 1 ft inside the plot. Plant a strong stake with the plant and rub out the lower buds leaving just the strongest to grow up. Tie periodically to the stake to prevent whipping in the wind.

Later you will need a horizontal support at the desired height to continue training in the vine rod. Pinch out any flowerbuds that appear this year as they will just reduce the plants vigour.

Off back down the lottie now to make the most of the weather  ;)
