Hi all,

As a few of you know had my laptop stolen on the 23rd Feb so thought i would give you a update while i was at work!!

Well i have sown lettuce which is coming along great peppers and chillies which are both just starting to sprout  :D Also in pots radish, Paris carrots and red onion. Got a bit of sowing to do this week too :o

My potatoes are looking fantastic cant wait to get them planted was thinking in a week or so as I'm in the south does this sound about right??

Also took a sledge hammer to part of my concreted garden. Got fed up with looking at it and thought i wonder whats under there!! I spent all day sunday and Monday afternoon smashing away and bagging it all up ended up with 31 bags of rubble  :P The result great soil IMO spent about 3 hours forking and racking to remove the last of the stones but i think its a useable space  ::)

Was thinking i would pop my spuds in there as would save on pots and planters but it doesn't get the sun all day its a south facing garden but the fence would restriced sunlight in the afternoon. what do you think?

Think that's all for now hope to get a computer sorted soon I'm missing reading all the posts on A4A  ;D

Thanks Lucy

Try them there, it will probably get enough sun in the summer, unless the fence is VERY tall...  :)

i would throw some muck in there and try the spuds :D

mummybunny

Thanks  ;D Have you planted your spuds yet? Were still having a few frosts here   ::)

mine went in last weekend but i grow them in containers as i haven't the room to grow them in the ground. when the leaves begin to show i can easily move them into my greenhouse or cover with sheets of glass in case frost is forecasted. you can always fleece yours if this is the case.

Thanks thifasmom thats a great idea have some fleece that i picked up out of a bargin bin before xmas. Will get the house work done then get out into the garden today  ;D
