Hi,whats the best way of growing watermelons

I grew 1 last year,my sis gave me a plant and all i did was put it in big pot in g,house and watered it reg.The fruit wasnt very big but tasty.sorry bout lack of detail .but everything i grow has got 2 chances.

Underglass... I grew one of DebP's in the big greenhouse last year.
