Hi everyone,

I am wondering if any of you are Catherine Cookson fans? If you are and you have a book by her entitled "A collection of Poems" (I think) could you help me out by PMing me two short extracts from it please? They are  called "Old age" and "Silence" I would love to be able to read them out at my mothers funeral on Tuesday if at all possible. Catherine Cookson was her favourite author.
Thanking you for any help you may be able to give me.

Love to you all and I'll be back 'on board' again soon hopefully.

Eileen.

Hi Eileen,
This is a link to a Catherine Cookson Forum, maybe somebody there can help you.
I do hope you can find what you are looking for in time.
All the best,
Ina

Eileen, your best bet probably is the site Ina has given you but in case you don't get an answer there then there seem to be two books of poems by Cookson (a) Let Me Make Myself Clear" and "Just a Saying" - in the latter there is a poem talking about growing old and it is called "Slow Me Down".  Don't have personal knowledge of any of this but it might help.

Thinking of you.

Dear Eileen I hope by now you have managed to track down the poems you were searching for.

Catherine Cookson published a collection of poetry, prose and pictures in 1990.  The book was called "Let Me Make Myself Plain"
and was a simple view on the meaning of life gained from her hard experiences. Don't know if this might be what you are searching for.

Below are the contact details of someone who works for Tyne Bridge Publishing who deals with Catherine Cooksons books and might be able to advise.

Contact: Anna Flowers, Publications Manager Telephone 44 (0) 191 2610691.
