Hi does anyone have this machine please..it is the Titanioum model KM 020.

My dilemma is wondering how to go with my mixers going abroad.

1st thought was to get a 110 motors for my current Majors and ship  with my stuff.

2nd thought was to get a step down transformer  to use them as they are over there

3rd thought was to sell my current  Majors and buy 1 new one  as above to take with me.

Wondering if some of my current accessories  will/won't fit the new machine

The Titanium has a 1500 moter which is very tempting.

Would apprecaite any help if anyone can.

Thank you XX Jeannine

I am still using a Chef 901A OH won't let me spend a few hundred quid on a Major & the attachments to go with it.

Your cheapest option is probably to buy the step down transformer 110 volt motors would be difficult to find & very expensive. You would still need one if you bought the KM020 rather than taking your existing mixers.

The KM020 attachments work with the Major model KM005 & the Chef models KM010, KM001 & KM003 probably some other models but I am not sure which.

Here is a list of the KM020 attachment numbers if it helps:
flat pasta maker AT970A
& the additional pasta attachments used in conjunction with it:
AT971A tagliatelle
AT972A tagliolini
AT973A trenette
AT974A spaghetti
pasta/biscuit maker AT910
roto food cutter AT948A
multi food grinder/sausage maker AT950A
grain mill AT941A
citrus juicer AT312
food processing attachment AT640 & AT980
liquidiser    1.5l acrylic AT337
liquidiser    1.5l glass AT338
multi-mill AT320
non-stop centrifugal juicer AT935A
ice-cream maker AT957
potato prep attachment AT952A
colander and sieve AT930A
stainless steel bowl 343268
splashguard 693766
flexible beater AW44002
cover 606397

I had a look through my service manuals to get a definitive answer for you.

The 900 series attachments that won't fit the KM020 are:
The A995 citrus juicer. The new one which will fit is the AT960.
The A953 and A954 Ice-Cream Maker would need a new lid to fit the KM020. The new one which will fit is the AT957.
The A998 high speed sllicer shredder (made before Dec 2002) will need a new base to fit the KM020. The new one which will fit is the AT998A.

All other 900 series attachments will fit the KM020 however some of the newer attachments will not fit the 900 series machines. The new food processor attachment A980 and the new citrus juicer A960 will not fit any of the 900 series machines.

Thank you so much,,that has really helped me .

Now would you know why one machine seems to be going fast when on the lowest speed? It does get faster as the thingy is turned  but is too fast on slow.

You are a real pet..thank you

Well thats a much easier question, 2 screws on the motor need adjusting. Although that sounds simple I should suggest you take it to a proper service agent as it is a very fiddly job due to the awkward location of the screws, the risk of electrocuting yourself etc...

If you decide to try sorting it out yourself I can send you proper instructions by PM but basically the speed is adjusted by means of the two spring loaded screws that retain and act as a hinge to the contact bar assembly on the motor. Tighten (clockwise) to reduce speed, slacken (anti-clockwise) to increase speed. It should be set between 60±5 RPM at the minimum speed setting of the mixers speed control knob.

I think you mean step up transformer (or power supply) as you will be using a 110v supply to drive a 240v motor.

Yes it should of been step up although numerous step down voltage converters can be used as step up converters too by simply flicking a switch.

Baccy man.. thank you so much for the help, we now have 2 Majors and 1 chef running perfectly.

I should have asked for help earlier I think, then I wouldn't have had three machines.

Still not sure which are going or staying but Kenwood tell me there is no 110 volt moter available for the Titanium machine and it isn't available in the US. I can get a clone of  a Kenwood which all my attachments will fit so we might go that way and sell all three here.

Thank you again, we even adjusted the newer on here which was running slow.
