Hi All
Can OSB board be used outside?

If so, what would be the best thing to use to waterproof it?

I think you would need to know if it's construction board. This resists damp but it would be wise to treat it with a couple of coats of good quality wood preserver.

Now I know what you are refering to, don't waste your money on preservatives. There is so much resin involved in making the stuff, the preservative will just run off.

The chippies on a building near us refused to cut it without face masks as the dust irritated their throats. When the safety officer came to check it out. He would not allow it to be cut on site.

I thought it might be good for building my 6x4 shed and compost bins.

I used OSB for the roof and floor of my shed.  The roof has felt over it so it doesn't get directly wet and the floor doesn't get too wet.  I did paint them with the same preservative I used for the outside of the shed but like Ace says, it's full of resin so the preservative 'shrinks' off it.  The chaps at the timber yard that cut it for me didn't use any masks.
