Aaaggghhhh
Mind you I once saw a dead water buffalo in India - on its back, legs in the air, stiff as a board, it was there for days on end right next to a busy road, have yet to see them roaming around (or otherwise) in East Sussex....... yet......

When I was a kid I found a pile of dead cattle dumped. The rats seemed to eat most of them in the end.

What a strange place to eat them. I'd start in the eyes if I was a rat!!  ;D

My mate keeps goldfish in his waterbutts to keep the mozzies down....dont have a clue if they help stop the water going green though!
You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose

Shame, you could've collected more rainwater if it had been a bison

Lesson for life:
1. Breathe in     2. Breathe out     3. Repeat

Goldfish won't eat the microscopic algae which cause the green. Seriously, the way to stop it is to cut out the light. No light = no photosynthesis = no algae = nothing for fly larvae to eat.
