It's the Credit Crunch. Does anyone know what time Economy 7 kicks in? I am all electric and keep thinking I must do the washing in the middle of the night, but not sure how late I have to stay up to put it on...

Check your contract, Katy....I think that the times it kicks in varies from supplier to supplier....years ago mine kicked about 11pm and went on to about 6.30-7ish, others didn't start til 1am...

Check Uswitch or somewhere for the best deals and good luck. The price you're paying during the day is so much higher..reckon you'll be having midnight feasts while you're watching your washing. Any chance you can fit a timeswitch to your plug btw? Might have one going spare & I can have a look if you like?

Be careful, as I understand it, it is not available to new customers now. Do some careful checking before you move to another supplier. It's like my house insurance, I cannot get the same deal these days so I remain with my company, been with them for 29 years. I have new for old replacement on everything. When we were flooded a few years ago (on a Sunday evening), I phoned on the Monday morning and they were there on Tuesday to start work.

Mine goes 23:30-07:00 but different companies have different times & they have regional variations.
