Have we gotten a new pea through cross pollination.
The peas that were planted where Hurst Green Shaft from Kings. This particular on is about six foot tall, the pods are not as big as Green Shaft and the flower is dark pink and white

Save a couple of pods and see if they come "true" next year... if they do keep a few notes, then ask someone like HSL to check it against their seed bank just in case a rogue got into the packet....  :)

Its definitely a rogue seed as Hurst green shaft flower is all white. Saving the peas for next season is a must, i never thought about the HSL trouble is i am not a member
I was hoping some one had seen the same flower on their peas.

This is a snowpea we grew this year for the first time and has a two-toned flower.

Oh good I am growing these but they haven't flowered yet - the pods will be purple.

Hmmm, our pods weren't purple, just normal green but the flowers were bi-colored. Anyway they tasted great, had enough of a crop for us, and are now fried in the heat,  just saving the vines to dry some seeds for next year. Have some limas growing in their place on top of them making quite a tangle.

I can see the green pods, but the flowers do look just like my purple-podded. Have you tried contacting the seed merchant to see whether they've got thier varieties mixed up?

It looks similar to Dun... a HSL variety with two tone flowers and Green short pods... DebP has some on her allotment at the moment...
