Is it just here in the "sunny" south, or has it been a good year everywhere for strawberries? Everyone on our site has had a bumper crop and it's not even Wimbledon Week yet....

My first strawberries picked tonight!!.  Not a punnet either :)

What a wonderful photo spring, felt I could reach out and lift them off the plate.
Mine are still stubbornly green apart from three I picked about a week ago LOL :)

I have to thank Ninnycrops, she sent me runners from her allotment and told me what to do.  Only a small crop but its GREAT :)

I don't know if I should say this......I picked another two 1 litre icecream containers today some of these aren't as ripe as yesterdays but it's supposed to rain here tomorrow and if I left them the slugs will be out in force and get them.
Still it's taken 3 years to get here.

First handful of raspberries too!

My first crop of the year...

much more intense flavour than shop-bought ones, but less sweet and more sharp...

I was amazed at the redness inside - unlike commercial ones.

You cannot beat home grown.

OH likes them straight. I like some icing sugar on mine and then leave them for a bit to leak juice.
