Mushy Pea

Hi folks,

Following all of this rain, two of our turnips look as though they are starting to flower.  Is this normal, or should we cut the flowers off?  The turnips are probably about the size of a cricket ball and the leaves about a foot high.

Thanks again for your help.

Sounds to me like your turnips are past their best for eating and are going to seed.

It is the normal process of the plant.

It's been a very odd year for bolting.  Lots of people had thier rhubarb go very early.  I've had carrots and turnips too.  It's not that they're past thier best - these are still at the 'baby' veg stage.
