My goldfish have started breeding!!

I tell you what, Im glad we dont erm..spend days erm well ...at it. Im surprised they can still swim!!

Hopefully ( thought Ive read up and its not a probability) we'll have baby fish in a week or so
My little boy would be delighted  ;D

I haven't noticed mine at it yet. But I get an awful lot of fry each year, so I'd be quite happy if they decided they are not up to it this year  :P.

I wish mine would breed having said that though they do but I think the other fish I have .. tench and orf .. are eating the eggs and fry. However we were sitting near the pond last weekend during the lovely weather and we spotted a lone black baby gold fish - result! Do you think they are getting eaten or am I just unlucky?

Hi Stephen,

The goldfish as well as the Orfe and Tench eat the fry.  If they didn't our ponds would be very full, so one  baby black goldfish is good going.
