I have a large planter which I have put canes into  in a wigwam shape, I have planted three normal peas in there and started helping them climb the pole.  Now is it alright to leave these outside now, as they have been in a cold greenhouse so are quite used to the cold by now.  I have put some clothe over them to help with protection from the wind.  Also can I plant different types of peas together or does it all have to be the same types

sorry forgot to ask should I have mesh or pea net going round the wigwam of sticks ro can I just leave them to climb themselves

The peas will need something to climb, they have tendrils which grasp netting but don't twist round the pole like climbing beans. If you have two sorts on the same wigwam that's fine but you might get mixed up about which are mangetout and which are not and it would make saving seeds a nightmare!!

how should I put the netting on, I have the wigwam, which is 6 sticks one in each conrner then one in the middle of each length tied together, should I put the netting round the inside of the wigwam ro the outside

Caseylee, I keep reading your posts you must be a reincarnated Red Indian you want wigwams for everything.

Grow in rows and you will do a lot better.

Now please read your seed packets too. Before you buy is best.

Some peas will grow to 6 foot or 2 metres tall and need support others will self support and will only grow to about 3 ft tall.

Some peas are ideal to eat as both mange tout and full peas others are only suitable for one or the other.

Some peas are meant for just one crop, others will keep flowering and will pod all summer.

Outside.... (HOW!) (In response to Purple Heather!!) As a rule of thumb older /taller varieties aheva longer flowering/ pod production...
