soak peas in paraffin before planting. ???

I remember my father using paraffin and red lead, and it wasn't a long soak. Too long might harm the seed, so I'd probably try a quick swill myself. If I'm germinating them in the open ground, I find cloches very effective; I'm not sure whether that's because of the higher temperature or because they keep some of the pests off.

A dip should do it is the smell that is the deterrent!
