Allotments 4 All

Hi guys sorry to ask more questions but, i have all my fruit bushes either in temporary positions in the garden or in tubs, this is because the bottom of our garden was being used by the builders for scaffolding, now they are going to put up a 1.8 fence not sure when they will get round to it though.

my question is how long can i leave it before i move them, will i jeopordise their future by moving them too late?

as long as the pot is big enough and they are comfortable then they'll be fine and will continue to put down roots and get established so when you do come to move them they will be even stronger and can take the transplant

excellent thank you they are in large planters, i just dont know how long these builders are gonna take lol

You are obviously in some doubt, and it has always been my way that if  in doubt do nout.

You don't mention what type of fruit bushes you have but I would hazard a guess that they are now in bud if not in leaf.

If you move them now the buds may abort then you will end up with no harvest.

If you think they are growing well now leave them as they are, harvest your crop then think about planting them out in their permanent positions, at least this way you will get some cropping.

thanks tee gee the reason im in some doubt is that the builders were supposed to be done ages ago, then next door tells me they havent returned their letter saying they give them permission to put the fence up so thats probably whats holding it up, the fruit bushes are not gonna be able to stay where they are as they are gonna get too big they are gooseberries, blackcurrants and raspberries
